Her Hidden Tears

As she goes about life
People see me her perky
A happy go lucky kid
With a chip on her shoulder

The good student
Always working hard
Getting assignments in
Making the grade

But within her heart
Lies a dark hole
A feeling she keeps hidden
That she can't deny

On the outside
She's happy
But within
She's sad

Nobody can see it
Nobody can look it
But she holds back
Her hidden tears

Just how she truly feels
They never ask her
So she never tells

Why can't they see

She always seem so happy
As her eyes see a rainbow
But within her soul
She only sees rain clouds

She sees kids go by
Going off with friends
Her sorrow deepens
Yearning for friendship

In an amusement park
Where everything is blissful
Its ever so empty and silent
With no joys of laughter to fill the air

Why must she be the one
Alone on the swing
With no one to swing with
In the playground of loneliness

Why can't they see it
How she truly feels within
As she holds back
Her hidden tears

Deep within her soul
Her sorrow grows
As her life feels lonely
With no joy at all

Her world is black and white
With nobody to color in between the lines
To fill her world with colors
All the colors of the rainbow

Why must she be destined
To be all alone in this world
With nobody to call a friend
With no love to call her own

Is there nobody out there
To put a hand on her shoulder
To lend a ear to listen to her feelings
To turn her frown upside down

Why can't nobody see it
