My name is Megan
In greek it means pearl
Welsh gives you the same
But they call it little pearl.
Unique and creative
Loyal and brave
Kind and sincere
Goofy and smart.
All my life
I felt trapped
In a shell
Deep within the sea
The oyster, my prison.
Yet the shell breaks
The oyster opens
Revealing a shining jewel
Which is my very soul.
A rare sight to behold
Of this unique pearl
That luminates a rainbow
As the sun shines upon it.
I feel so free
So loved and treasured
By my loved ones
From near and far.
For they can see
The beauty and potential
That shines inside and out
Glowing from my very being.
For they see passed the oyster
To a gorgeous little gem
Their pride and joy
Their precious little pearl.

When I finished Liesl's Rump book-I read the author's note how names can have many meanings-yet our names don't control us-for human will is stronger than the most powerful magic and Rump learned that during his journey to find his destiny and he changed his fate by taking control of his story and not letting the magic overpower him. 
My name Megan-it means pearl and I guess during my life I felt like I was in an oyster shell-nobody saw what was inside such an oyster nor took the time to search the ocean for it. I was shy, timid, didn't felt brave or confidence long ago back when I was a kid-yet during the years the oyster shell began to rise up more and more the more I grew wiser, braver, stronger and grew as a person and today my pearl is revealed for all to see-for I'm not afraid to hide my radiance or jewel anymore-I'm free to let my being glow brightly as a pearl shines in the sunlight when taken out of it's shell prison.
Yet a pearl is a precious thing because it is a rare treasure-a rare sight to behold, a true friend who always has your back. And one to hold dear and see what the pearl is like and the wonders it can bestow-even bringing a smile to a face to brighten one's day. Yet it can be a wondrous person who gets recognized by somebody who sees potential within him/her or something special. A tiny, precious, little jewel just waiting for the world to see what she's made of and how her light can shine through the darkness.
And I'm not only happy for my name Megan-but I'm happy for who I am and how much I've grown over the years and grew as a person and have risen from the oyster and found amazing friends, appreciating what I have around me and enjoying life and getting out there. And I have a feeling that despite the obstacles ahead and challenges I've faced-through the wild roller coaster of life and my ADHD-I know I can do the impossible because I believe I can do it and I'm not alone either because I have loved ones near and far who support and love me for who I am.

Megan eh… it suits you. Anastasia is my name, Ana for short, which means "resurrection" in Greek; and indeed, multiple times in my life, I have gone through adversity only to rise up the better for it, like the phoenix from the ashes.
